Coast Guard Weather Briefer

Chronological list of updates and desires still to come...

Updates...

31 March 12

Updates for this update this time around...
1) I’ve 80% complete with teaching the AUXWEA course to some fine adult learners from both the Whittier Flotilla in Alaska and some active duty from the local Sector Anchorage office. It’s probably been just as challenging for them as it has been rewarding for me; while I challenge both myself and the students to push themselves to learn a broad-range subject matter normally reserved for a amateur meteorologist.

2) Second item...I would like to announce that the culmination of my ‘unintentional’ enterprise - for the improvement of the Coast Guard organization -has finally manifested itself it the second deliverable --- a submission to the CG Innovation Council!! That’s right folks, see LINK for additional information where you can follow any progress for this innovative idea and what I hope to be an actual project, by definition of project management.

Wow, this website has probably provided me with as much resourceful information as it has for you!! I just learned that our Coast Guard Auxiliary has a specialty qualification for weather!!! What does this do for us as active duty folks? Well, this could be the missing link…training material that is already approved and used by our own, which could translate into a second foot in the door for active duty getting CGWX briefer qualified! 9 April 2011 - Jeff

It's been a while since an update has come around.....rest assured that I am still tracking. A second Point Paper will soon be disseminated. A former, and respected retired Master Chief told me – not too long ago, if change is going to happen, it take persistence and may take a while…..
